ABOUT THE ARTIST

Since 2021, Mariam, an Armenian American artist based in Los Angeles, has passionately crafted D’Earth Pottery. With an unwavering enthusiasm for clay, she has specialized in creating small-batch functional and decorative vessels that celebrate asymmetry, texture, and the raw qualities of clay.

D’Earth Pottery is a testament to Mariam’s deep connection to the natural world. Mariam’s creations are inspired by her travels and hikes, inviting one to connect with the essence of nature in daily rituals and living spaces. This deep connection is reflected in the name chosen for the studio, D'Earth Pottery, as it signifies "The Earth" and also reads as "Dirt".

Her work has gained recognition in the art world, finding its way into exhibitions and the homes of art enthusiasts worldwide.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is a tribute to asymmetry, texture, and the inherent rawness of clay.

Each creation tells a story of nature's wisdom, encouraging one to stop and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. It shows unevenness, and imperfections, yet, beauty and creativity. I let the clay dictate the form, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that resonate with authenticity. I leave part of the vessel unglazed, to showcase the raw qualities of clay.

Creating mostly vases and decor pieces, I aim to bring beauty and balance to one's space.

The journey of D'Earth Pottery continues to evolve, inviting to embrace the earth's raw and enchanting forms.
